With the start of 2025, I thought it would be a good time to talk about some of the important collaborations that take place daily at HDM. Of course, we collaborate with our clients and have nicknamed our design workshops as Collaborative Design Accelerators. These partnerships allow us to be nimble and best serve our clients in a timely and professional manner.

Our three main outsource collaborators are COBU Architecture Studio, PLLC, Davis Bews Design Group (DBDG), and 1837 Color & Design, LLC. If you have worked with us before, you will recognize many of the names. These are what I like to call our sister companies – each supplying critical services to meet our client’s needs.

COBU Architecture Studio, PLLC, is a full-service architecture firm based in Chicago, and they are our key resource for multifamily and clubhouse projects. This year, Justin Bucy will transition from HDM to COBU, allowing him to focus more on the full-service aspects of our projects together. He will be in a supervisory role along with Jay Cox. For many of our existing clients, there will be no perceivable change. Indeed, Justin will continue to be reachable through his HDM email address (jbucy@housigndesignmatters.com) and phone. He will also have a COBU email – Justin@cobu-arch.com.

Davis Bews Design Group is our second strategic partnership. Based in Tampa, DBDG is also a full-service firm specializing in production housing. Bill Kendrick functions as our project manager for much of our single-family work. Bill has a well-qualified team to help HDM meet our CAD and construction documents needs. Last but certainly not least of our strategic partnerships is Tobi Saunders with 1837 Color & Design. Tobi is a former HDM employee who relocated to Southern California.
